THE PAINTED LINES exists somewhere between music and literature.
It is the idea of a band rather than a performing group—words and voice accompanied by instruments that are imagined through lyric-poem fragments, chorus‑like repetitions and verses shaped for breath and pause rather than melody.
Influenced by indie rock, beat poetry, and the tradition of artists who blurred the boundary between song and poem, THE PAINTED LINES treats lyrics as standalone texts: poems that are intimate, songs without music, offerings that are open to interpretation where the reader/listener is the final, most important, member of the band.
GHOSTS OF THE REBELLION (2026) is the first album release by THE PAINTED LINES and its lyric-poems can be found in SPARROWS OVER CLOUDS, the debut book of poetry by Toronto-based writer and artist Jean-Paul Fallavollita and published by PlanetSpin Publications. Available in multiple formats on November 17, 2026.
